Clint: “How did you know I was here, anyway?”
Wade: “I may or may not silently watch Stark Tower through the windows with binoculars and have listening devices installed in every room. But that’s off topic.”

bartonss:

Clint/Natasha Domestic-ish AU - they’re basically the same but they have a five-year-old kid and Clint owns a diner.

Clint: (on the phone) I love you too, Iron Ass.
Natasha: What does that son of a bitch want this time?
Phillip: Mommy, what’s a bitch?
Natasha: It’s a girl dog, honey.
Phillip: How can Uncle Tony’s mom be a dog?
Natasha: Just finish the cereal Daddy made.

Is this what happens when Sherlockians leak into other fandoms?

So I noticed this when I saw the movie for the fourth time and I was like, should I tell the internet? And then Howie came over and I never got around to it. Anyway, good spotting.

fishlass:

Around how old do you think Clint is?

So, Jeremy Renner is 41. That being said, age in comics is hard to determine. We don’t know his exact age because it is left to a writers whims and changing timelines. That being said, in Earth 1610 (Ultimates Universe) it is revealed that he was incarcerated when Nick Fury met him and in exchange for his freedom he agreed to become a U.S. Intelligence Operative. During his time working as an operative he was at the fall of the Berlin Wall among other momentous events in foreign countries. The Berlin Wall fell in 1989. Because Clint Barton was incarcerated soon after becoming an adult we can assume that he was at least 18. Take a year or so for training and the earliest he could be deployed to the Berlin Wall is at the age of 19. This makes him 42 at the youngest unless he was imprisoned as an adult while underage.

Another way to consider Clint’s age is to take the theory that one idea for Clint Barton’s past was that Cap was his biological father and Peggy was his mother in Earth 616. Now while no one has been able to verify the source, even if it is false Clint and Cap share sort of a father-son relationship regardless which means that the age estimate while rough should still work. Captain America’s defrosting is based on a scale, originally he was frozen for about 19 years. From April 1945 to March 1964. Peggy would have been pregnant, but not yet showing when he died, which leaves Clint between the age of 18 or 19 when he joins the Avengers. Now, we don’t necessarily know how many years have passed since then but it’s been several. We know Clint is 18-19 years younger than Captain America’s actual age. So how do we go from here? I referred to Captain America Vol. 5 Issue 50 (with Bucky!Cap) for the answer. In that issue they throw Bucky a birthday party and Natasha comments that Bucky has to be “at least 80” by now. Bucky was born in 1925, making him 3 years younger than Steve or 15 to 16 years older than Clint. If Bucky is 80 by now, that makes Clint 64. However, Clint never had any age defying treatments so we can assume Marvel is exaggerating. Cap couldn’t have woken up more than 20 years ago because of the whole age problem. So, Clint is in his 30s if we take that stance.

Realistically though, it’s hard to tell. I would say he’s about 34 in Earth 616 (considering he and Wanda joined at the same time and Wanda has sons in their late teens) and when compared to Earth 1610 it puts him at an average age of 38. It seems higher than I would have thought but that’s as far as I can figure with my math.

Pathetic Avengers Fangirl: On Shipping and Fanboys

patheticfangirl:

This is my letter to angry fanboys.

First, let it be known that I love most fanboys. When I go to a con, most of the guys there are respectful. They share a passion with me, and that’s awesome. We’re all on a rock floating through space with little connection to most of the people who surround…

So most of you know by now that Marvel and DC Comics are both taking steps forward in their representation and portrayal of LGBTQA characters.

Both franchises already have gender and sexual minority characters (Northstar, Rictor, Shatterstar, Courier, Batwoman, Voodoo,

whenever I talk about Hawkeye everyone thinks I’m saying ‘hot guy’

Whenever a store clerk asks if I want a specific Avengers toy and I say Hawkeye they think I mean the Hulk. I’d rather they take me to the hot guy section but sadly that is not my lot in life. (Not that Mark Ruffalo isn’t hot but they generally don’t make many Bruce Banner toys)

And then people have no idea who Black Widow is so they just stare at you until they figure it must be ‘the girl’

I wouldn’t know. They don’t make enough Black Widow toys for me to buy. They’d probably try and send me to the stuffed animal section or something to find a stuffed spider.
